about the artist
Shari Baeth is an art teacher and freelance artist in Des Moines, IA. For 30 years, she has been painting watercolor and pastel landscapes, still life and architectural subjects. Her work has been commissioned from across the United States and exhibited in numerous galleries and juried shows in the Midwest. She has received awards and honors for many of her works.
Shari is a charter member of the Iowa Pastel Society, member of Associated Artists of Central Iowa, and has served on the board of the Polk County Heritage Gallery, promoting the exhibition of artworks by other Iowa artists.
Shari is passionate about her work as both artist and teacher. She has taught drawing
and painting for the Des Moines Art Center and Community Adult Education, as well as in the Johnston and Des Moines Public Schools over the past 20 years. Shari continues to learn new techniques and practice her skills through weekly painting sessions with other local artists.
