 As far back as I can remember, I have loved to draw and paint.  I entered art contests as a child, received scholarships to study at the Des Moines Art Center, and spent most days after school creating in my high school art room.  I went on to receive a B.A. in Art Education, a M.A. in Education, and have had a rewarding 31-year career as a public school Visual Arts teacher.  

My passion for painting and teaching has led to some very fulfilling experiences.  I am energized by my students whom, whether adolescents or adults, have a child-like curiosity and desire to learn new drawing and painting techniques.
